Last November, the Republican party swept into the house with a vengeance. They also gained substantially in the senate. Many credit their success to the Tea Party.

The movement energized people who wanted smaller government. It gave America hope that we could avoid a disaster that both Bush and Obama seem determined to force upon us.

Today Amy Kremer is worried that the Tea Party's ideals are too "radical". She is urging candidates to compromise. Talk of shutting the government down is "just not realistic."

It's important that the Tea Party stick to their guns and get the 61 billion dollar cuts passed through. The fact that this is little more than a rounding error in our 3.7 trillion dollar budget doesn't seem to bother her.

"You’re going to have those purists, those hard-liners, who say, ‘Shut down the government and cut everything'. But that’s not practical. That’s not being realistic.”

Look, if we wanted status quo Republicans, then there isn't any point to the Tea Party. The American people clearly voted for a radical departure in November.

In another sign that the Tea Party Express is abandoning it's founding principles in favor of a "pragmatic" approach, Kremer is also planning to only support more mainstream candidates next time around.

Amy Kremer is a pragmatist in the ugliest philosophical sense of the word. She has no principles, and just wants to take the "practical" approach on any given issue.

"There are people who are practical and realistic and understand how this works. That doesn’t mean that they necessarily started out that way. But they have evolved into that, and I think it’s a learning process and a growing process and we’re all working together to affect change, so how do we get there?”

This actually means she has no guiding ideology, and that she will blow which ever way the wind does. Of course pragmatism doesn't actually work. The Tea Party got elected on a mission, with a goal. If they turn out to be just wishy-washy Republicans they will quickly fade into obscurity.

Amy Kremer need to read Atlas Shrugged. In it, John Galt gives some advice she needs to take to heart. "In any compromise between food and poison, it is only death that can win. In any compromise between good and evil, it is only evil that can profit."

Stick to your guns, and don't compromise Amy Kremer! If you won't the Tea Party will find someone who will...I hope.
